    Default Parts interchange chart/sticky

Does anyone know of, and have access to a chart that indicates parts compatibility between .308 AR manufacturers?
If such a thing doesnt exist, who here is a spreadsheet wizard, who we can start compiling data with?
More and more of us are building the big AR rifles, and the "almost dpms" or "almost KAC" compatibility doesnt quite hack it.
So, if no one has done it, how do we as a forum get it started?
For the record, im practically a downy when it comes to spreadsheets. I just come up with ideas :-)

In my discussions with Colorado_Hack, he explained that a good rule of thumb follows: DPMS is 90% of what's out there and will almost always work with other DPMS. On the other hand, Armalite is the other 10% and will only work with Armalite. I understand that this is an oversimplification and sometimes basic manufacturing processes might require some gunsmithing to make different manufacturers work together, but that's all things. We're working on a build right now that is a Frankenstein's monster (albeit a damn pretty monster) of: Precision Aero, Odin, Ranier, POF USA, and other players to be named later...I'll let you know if we have any issues beyond normal

Hell, I'm pretty sure even DPMS used two different height upper receivers. The lack of standardization on the AR10 parts really makes it hard for me to get into the platform.

Now that you mention it, that does ring a bell, but I can't say for sure. The interchangability thing is a big deal when you are "all in" for the 5.56 AR system where plug and play is something of a no brainer. However, I really like the .308 ballistics, so I'm taking the plunge...

    Piston (2 position)
    LWRC REPR

Sig716 is 4 position piston - Off, suppressed, normal, adverse.
BCM Gunfighter CH is not compatible with Sig716
I think they only ting that fits the Sig is buttstocks, pistol grip, and PMAGS. Trigger group, safety are all milspec. Have never tried any other uppers on the lower.

    308 SPREADSHEET

    That's a start.

And there's a lot of good info on the 308 AR forum.

I question the accuracy of that spreadsheet.

Armalite current (Sr25 pattern mag) and original(10B - AR10) are backwards...
    Sig716P magazine is SR25/LR-308

    From Magpul:

    • Additional commercial rifle compatibility includes the new Armalite AR-10A, Ruger SR-762, Bushmaster .308 ORC, Colt LE901-16S, CORE Rifle Systems CORE30, DPMS, LR308, JP Enterprises LRP-07, KAC SR25, LaRue OBR, Les Baer .308, LMT .308 MWS, LWRCI REPR, Mega Arms MATEN, POF P-308, Remington R-25, S&W M&P10, SIG716, and others
NOTE: NOT compatible with Armalite AR-10B, Noveske N6, Springfield Armory M1A, Rock River Arms LAR8, FN SCAR 17S, PTR-91, HK417 or any other rifles that utilize M14, FN FAL, or HK 91/G3 patterned magazines

I believe that Magpul designed their PMAG LR's to be compatible with the widest degree of mag wells, so using PMAG compatibility alone wouldnt determine wether the chart is accurate or not, unless I'm misreading your post above.
