Two weeks after 9/11. She said islamic civilization was the greatest in the world. I'm not sure how that's taken out of context.

Also found this in an article (from her book--which i have not verified as accurate):

"I remember hearing, for the first time, Muslims pray, and how over time their sound evolved from being frightening in its strangeness to comforting in its cadence and repetition—I would feel the same peace when I listened to the sound of summer cicadas around my grandmother's house. I grew to love being awakened in the morning by the sound of the devout man who always came to pray under my bedroom window."

now that sounds like the sentiment of the occupant of the white house...

She also states the span of years she was talking about.

While modern Western civilization shares many of these traits, the civilization I’m talking about was the Islamic world from the year 800 to 1600, which included the Ottoman Empire and the courts of Baghdad, Damascus and Cairo, and enlightened rulers like Suleiman the Magnificent.
The Arabs did have a great civilization in comparison to other cultures at that time, they don't anymore though.

She is describing the prayer she heard and how it made her feel, she didn't say she embraced the precepts of Islam.

I'm not too worried that Fiorina is a closet, radical Islamist. She's still on my short list of favorite candidates.

I'm curious how those who rail against the "republican establishment" and how they're going to pick the candidate for us can explain how 3 of the most popular candidates aren't even politicians. Not only that, but the primaries are exactly when your vote means the most. The "establishment" has nothing to do with who wins/loses primaries.

"was the greatest" vs "is the greatest".

    Edit: what roberth said.

Fiorina and Carson give me hope that the anti-establishment bent to this race may have legs through next year. Even if neither of them end up being the nominee, they add depth, momentum, and legitimacy to the anti-establishment movement. Up until recently I was afraid that we were for sure going to get stuck with Bush or Kasich. Paul is unfortunately out of the running but I'm still pulling for Cruz. He looked good last night as well, despite limited time.

Could be worse. It could have been Hillary, Bernie or Joe up there. Much as I detest Trump, I'd prefer him to any of the Three Stooges.

The only problem with that is the timing for us CO residents, ie the primaries are all but settled by the time we get to throw our 2 cents in on the subject and the field will be down to 1 or 2 by that point.

Then look at what happened last time around to Herman Cain, got too close to the golden ring and the hit squad came out of the woodwork. Granted that was probably primarily the Dems because he was Obama Kryptonite, but the same thing will happen this time around if any of the "back benchers" get too big for their britches. It's the way the 2 big league parties work. Trump has a list a mile long to use against him, Carson will magically have some scrub nurse from 25 years ago claim sexual advances, Fiorina will end up with some financial scandal thrown on her doorstep, we've all seen the pattern. $10 says it's Bush, Crispy Cream, or maybe Rubio but doubtful, when the dust settles.

I basically live blogged it on my Facebook. Next time I will do it here.
What is my joy if all hands, even the unclean, can reach into it? What is my wisdom, if even the fools can dictate to me? What is my freedom, if all creatures, even the botched and impotent, are my masters? What is my life, if I am but to bow, to agree and to obey?
