I wouldn't say it's because I don't like it. When I'm on the highway going 70 and suddenly I cant see for a few seconds that's a big deal to me. Not wanting someone to risk my life is reasonable. Driving a car is in reality the most dangerous thing most of us will ever do.

Out of curiosity, would "doing mean things to them to show your disdain" include such things as seeing "a Prius is around and then they try to cover it in soot?"

My basic thought is this: People do mean things to people all the time, and that is life. However, when you arbitrarily smoke out a guy towing a kid on his bicycle, then we as a society have a collective duty to find your mother and kick her in the ovaries as hard as possible for raising such an inconsiderate douchebag of a son.

And by 'you', I don't mean 'you, Sniper', as I am sure you would never express your disdain to a group you didn't like by blowing a diesel cloud at their children.

Edit: A quick internet search did not reveal any particular law that would prevent me from Log Rolling you. I couldn't shit on your porch directly, because that might involve public defecation or exposure. However, there does not appear to be anything stopping me from bringing a giant log from my own toilet and placing it on your doorstep when your not home. Doesn't appear to be trespassing, maybe vandalism or littering, but the law does not seem to anticipate that I would do something pointlessly annoying with my feces to a stranger for my own amusement. Sort of like how it's probably a stretch to make a crime out of 'Rolling Coal', but it's still a douchy thing to do to a stranger.

This thread is a bit of a cluster. The people defending this action seem to have a huge blind spot in their understanding of that which the others are complaining. No one is complaining that there are diesel trucks that emit smoke, no one. People are complaining that owners of the diesel trucks are purposely, and even proudly, blowing smoke on random people in public. If you do that, you're an asshole, period. There is zero defense and zero justification.

This entire argument could be changed to people running around on the street and belching in other people's faces. The defenders would provide arguments like, "How do you do know he didn't just finish a soda?" or, "Funny that you just assume he doesn't have a disorder that affects his digestive tract!" Maybe, "So if I just had a large coke and a spicy burrito, I shouldn't be allowed on the streets?"

Of course no one would be, or has been making those arguments. Only that if you purposely make an effort to belch in someone else's face, you're an asshole.

I was pulled over in Boulder maybe 10-12 years ago for a smoking vehicle. No ticket though.

I'm probably a hypocrite but keying a vehicle would be vandalism and illegal, my exhaust is not.

as a disclaimer, I don't own a coal roller, my brand new duramax is all stock and I intend to keep it that way since I'll buy another one next year, and then another one the year after that and so on. Upgrades are a waste of money for me and I don't want to void my warranty.

And I don't care if they roll coal or not. It sure isn't hard to pick those trucks out, it's not like they hide the fact they are big diesels with upgrade stickers on them, huge exhausts, loud turbos, etc. and that makes them easy to avoid.p if you actually pay attention while driving.

Anyone wanting on my property would be trespassing, once they hopped the marked fence. They wouldn't be getting through the locked gate without permission, so I don't have any worry for log rolling. But if playing with your own shit gets you off, you probably need a mental health check for Scatolia. And by "you" I don't be you JohnnyEgo, as I'm sure you would never really handle your own feces, let alone dig it out of the toilet, drive it over 30 miles with the intention of depositing it on somebody's doorstep, as that might be a sign in the eyes of the law of a mentally disturbed individual.
