When I first moved here I was invited on a ride with a few "spirited " riders. We ended up stuck behind an ambulance going up some mountain road. Every time he would go past some bicyclist he would smoke them out. Call me names if ya like but I found it funny as f.

if you have an 06 or early 07 they have EFI live for them, but nothing prior to that. I am bummed about that since my truck is an 05 5.9.

EGR delete and you're good to go with the 6.0L. It's just a matter of whether or not you lost a motor before the delete.

Yup, 2004.5 when they started rolling out the 325/555 H.O. version. I dug through a bunch of official EFI Live posts and updates, and apparently they'd tried to tackle the project, but the ECM's architecture is too difficult for their tech team. Shame, considering Smarty and every other box tuner could write software & ROMs for it. They basically said it wasn't financially viable to spend anymore time on the 04s and 05s, which I find very hard to believe.

    I believe early 2004 H.O. Option was 325/555.

Official 2004.5 mid model year trucks are 325/610 in stock factory form. I own one and that's what's on the sticker.

I believe this list to be (mostly) correct for all auto trans 2500/3500 pickups:

    2003–2004 SO 5.9 L -Cummins diesel I6 250 hp/460 lbf·ft
    2003–2004 SO California Emissions 5.9 L -Cummins diesel I6 235 hp /460 lbf·ft
    2003–2004 HO 5.9 L -Cummins diesel I6 305 hp / 555 lbf·ft
    2004.5–2007 5.9 L -Cummins diesel I6 325 hp / 610 lbf·ft

    Wiki also shows this:

    2002-2003 SO 5.9 L (360 cu in) Cummins diesel I6 250 hp (190 kW) 460 lb·ft (620 N·m)
    2002–2003 SO California Emissions 5.9 L (360 cu in) Cummins diesel I6 235 hp (175 kW) 460 lb·ft (620 N·m)
    2002-2003 HO 5.9 L (360 cu in) Cummins diesel I6 305 hp (227 kW) 555 lb·ft (752 N·m)
    2004-2008 5.9 L (360 cu in) Cummins diesel I6 325 hp (242 kW) 610 lb·ft (830 N·m)
    2007-2009 6.7 L (408 cu in) Cummins diesel I6 350 hp (260 kW) 650 lb·ft (880 N·m)

    2010–2012 6.7 L (408 cu in)Cummins diesel I6 (6-Speed Manual/Automatic) 350 hp (260 kW) 650 lb·ft (880 N·m)

I'm thinking of doing the EFI. I have a 06 5.9 and am running a Smarty S-06 now. I'm an old fart and hate rolling coal but that Smarty is a little dirty at times. Usually when I have been running with no load for a while then have to step on it to pass someone.

Time to do some VIN referencing and double check a few odds and ends. Cheers!

I've been behind a few of them up here. They really need to be off the road for creating a huge hazard. The video on the news link doesn't do it justice; the trucks blow so much effing smoke that I could see only about 2 feet in front of me for at least 30-50 feet (me in my car).

Yeah they should always roll coal when in front of a police car. See how well that works out for them.
