Default Trans-Pacific Partnership on the road to official implementation

    http://www.nytimes.com/2015/10/06/bu...s-reached.html

Yet to be signed by Congress, and the verbage/text has yet to be released. But it sounds like things will be a go at this point.

I'm not up to speed on this, but tying up 40% of the global economy together sounds like a massive disaster waiting to happen.

If Obama is dealing, what are we losing by this "partnership"?

Yes, just look at the EU.

It's also worth noting that this deal offers another backdoor intellectual property agreement that would allow companies like Warner Bros and Sony to sue you for arbitrary amounts of money for watching/using anything of theirs without purchase. The ceiling remains to be seen, but it's not unfathomable that they could start hitting you with ISP infractions or penalties for things like getting music or movies from a friend (your browser cookies, phone profiles, etc. might as well just let companies into your system).

It'll be visible to the public for 60 days before Congress votes on it.
