Work glove recommendations?

Not sure if this is in the right place or not, so mods, feel free to move...

My son-in-law is working at Discount Tire now, and is looking for a good pair of work gloves: wants something with good feel, but is very tear resistant/sturdy/will hold up over time...

I'm assuming the answer is some kind of "skin": leather, deer, etc. Any suggestions/thoughts/advice?

Original mechanix gloves are what he seaks if he's busting tires all day. Can find them almost everywhere, about $20 a pair

Mechanix brand gloves are probably going to work out best for him. Although he is probably going to wear them out handling tires as much as he is going to be.

They are are probably the best compromise between keeping your hands protected while still providing decent dexterity.

Oh, and if they have the Velcro straps on the cuffs tell him to keep them strapped down when mounting tires. Don't ask me how I know.

The knock off mechanix gloves at HD or lowes. They all wear out just as fast. Better to spend $10 every month than $20+

I use the mechanix knockoffs from harbor freight. Cheap enough to replace when you tear em up or get em dirty. Just buy a few pair at a time.

Home Depot regularly runs sale of Mechanix knock offs, 3 pack $10.

What they said- and don't get them from Snap On or any of the tool trucks. What you pay for one pair you can buy a 10 pack elsewhere.

Dyneema or Kevlar. Thin, nitrile dipped , level 3 cut resistance. Pretty cheap too. I've had them all and these are my favorite. A few diff manufactures , ULINE makes the ones I have. They Don't protect from impacts , but have awesome dexterity.
