Default Anybody got a good connection up in north metro for tire mounting?

The Mamamobiles tires are trashed, I found a new set of take offs on CL but I need them mounted/balanced.
Anybody know of any place up north here that isn't going to rape me on mount and balance?

    Thanks

Not North but I use Go Green Tires on Federal x Oxford. About $15 a tire mount and balance. No BS either that they won't mount the tire because . . . . (we want to sell you tires, like Discount!)

Sitting at Dickcount now, $15:00 per, about average from making calls.
He started the speil when I told him I already had the tires while we were walking to the car. "Well you know we don't like mounting used tires...yada, yada yada......"
He opened the tailgate and goes "Wow, these are practically new!"
"Yeah, I know...save the sales pitch and mount the fuckin tires."

In their (discount) defense, on multiple occasions I've seen a$$ clowns come in with non serviceable tires and try to get them mounted. A no used tire policy is probably a good business decision for them, as it takes out a lot of the BS in determining if Bob's tires are okay to mount, but Jesus' aren't. Just a thought, but glad they took care of you Burt.

    Bert,
You're doing well at $15/tire... how much are they adding for disposal fee? (they supposedly have to charge that even if they don't dispose of a tire...)

This has been the year of the tire at the 'Charger' ranch... Early this year (winter) my '97 K2500 Suburban needed new tires... I have a scrap '99 K1500 with oversize tires that fit the bill- got some value back after the %#@^ headgasket blew. Then the '07 Charger needed a new set... $700 OTD give/take, then a new set for the horse trailer.. 5@ $100 + mounting (seems nobody balances trailer tires anymore)
Plus, I got a nail in one of the new Horse trailer tires <48Hr after putting them on... My 12K GVWR flatbed blew a tire, and turns out the spare was crap (can't see it where it was mounted, should have checked it)... those a hard-to-find size.. LT7.50R16 load range G (14PR)

This is where the political rant goes in: apparently in 2009, Obummer signed a 35% Tariff on "LT" tires being imported (who makes them in the US anymore?)... so the price went from $140/tire to $200. I'm just now finding that they are getting around this by classifying trailer tires as ST7.50R16, and the price is like $140/tire, and I found one set for $97 for 225/90R16 14PR (metric version, but I have to $25/ea shipping)

Bought a '07.5 Diesel for Mrs. Charger, and it needed new tires when we bought it... and she wanted "big tires" (I think she's over-compensating, but she loves the new look)... found a good set of FIVE 315/70/17's from CL, and Peerless was happy to mount them for $15/ea, including disposal fee (they got a good spare, but the rest were crap)

my '98 12V needs tires, too... it's currently getting hand-me-downs from the K2500 suburban, and an old pair of MT/Rs it came with (been in storage) until I can muster purchasing more tires... (flatbed trailer is first)

oh, and the Right front tire on my tractor is more worn and doesn't hold weight like the Left front... so I need a 8-16 R1 tire, too...
I won't even mention regular tire issues on dirt bikes and our ATV that are just common...

Hope this helps you feel better, I'm frankly sick of round black things that go on vehicles..

So, what the heck is wrong with my tires !
I sold Bert a set for his Mamamobile a few years ago, probably the set he is just now replacing, and Bert was very happy with them at the time......

I'm sick of the damn things too. The thing that really sucks about AWD and such is replacing all 4 at once.
They are only charging $2.00 for disposal, heck I can't take them home and toss 'em out with the trash for that.
I will never pay full retail for tires, I will search CL for low mileage take offs before I pay that premium, last time I bought brand new I dropped $900+ on new ones for mama and two weeks later she decided a piece of rebar through the sidewall would be a good accessory for the tires!
    It wasn't.
I got lucky today on CL, I searched the size and an old man had just posted takeoffs with about a 1000 miles on them for $240.00. Snagged em for $220.00.

I know Chuck, but I knew being flirtatious wouldn't get me a discount.
    You maybe........

I just got back from vacation yesterday only to come home to her car having a flat!!!

I feel your pain, Bert.. since we picked up the nail here near the shop, I'm investing in a $40 magnet sweep from HF... pay the kids $0.10 per nail they bring me from that area. (Wife did $1 per immediately around the house, and was sorry when they came back with like 40-50 of 'em.)

I figure they'll get more with the proper tool, than just searching with a magnetized 1" angle iron
