    Default Any Ford Diesel techs?

I have a 2004 Ford F-250 power stroke 6.0leaker with 167k mi. It either blew an egr valve/cooler or head gasket. Truck over heated and ect temp was 248 degrees. I had a load of about 7k at the time. After I added two gal of coolant it was gone in 60 mi. I have coolant in my tail pipe, starts off with thick white smoke then stops.

About fives years ago I replaced the Egr vavle, cooler and Ficm when the same thing happened at a Ford dealership Truck has original head studs, gaskets and injectors. Unfortunately I'm not in a position to buy another truck (new or used) and hoping if I "bullet proof" this Ill be good
I looking for someone that can build this engine right !
    Thanks in advance

I second these guys. They've worked on my last Cummins and always did great work! Can't remember one of the guys names but pretty sure he was or still is sponsored by Magpul for Supermoto I believe.

EGR delete should be a no-brainer on the 6.0L. I'd definitely start there.

Performance Wise Diesel on 44th Ave in Wheat Ridge specializes in Power Strokes, by the way.

    Thanks for the info.
I've heard that the only issue with the egr delete kits is that you'll fail the visual inspection if you have one on. There's a plate installed that's seen right on top.I have a sinister diesel delete kit sitting in my garage. Supposedly the better way is to just weld the factory pipe shut and there's nothing different appearance wise. Both of the shops listed above advised against it but I know it makes a difference.

If you wanna do it right and make sure it lasts, toss that 6.0 in the trash and drop a cummins into it.

Many step brother has done a ton of those conversions over the years.

Mine has a bulletproof diesel EGR cooler and tuning that closes the egr.

Add a coolant filter to it, lots of 6.0 problems are from clogged oil cooler and egr, the coolant filter can prevent some of these and it's cheap.

    Do you run a tuner?

The few guys I know with the 6.0 do the EGR delete and install an ARP head stud kit and they haven't had any problems with them.
