So my wife went in last weekend for a research project she's been involved with her entire life and part of the project involved getting an MRI. Got a call today that said they found something on the MRI that we need to get checked out...an extra-axial lesion that they think at initial glance is a benign meningioma. We go in sometime next week to get a more focused diagnosing MRI and hopefully a more firm diagnosis. My initial research looks like it can be asymptomatic and may only require bi-annual monitoring to make sure it's not growing, but again we won't know for sure for a couple weeks. On the scale of brain tumors it looks to be on the really good end, but I'm freaking out all the same since the words "good" and "brain tumor" don't really seem to jive regardless of the circumstances.
If anyone has a prayer or some good thoughts to spare for her we would greatly appreciate it. Thanks everyone.
