Sounds like a challenging match. I wimped out and slept in. My hat is off to those that braved the elements.

Always a great bunch of shooters and some nice 22LR rifles on the line. Hope to make next months match!

It looks like the local weather stations from wunderground weather said it was in high 30s low 40MPHs.

This website makes it like you were there, with out the blowing sand.

Sunday was absolutely brutal. When I got to the range about 7:45 the winds were calm. It went in the shitter soon.

By the time most everyone had showed up winds were around 20. Then it got windy. One gust tossed a few rifles around. Then a few snowflakes started blowing around.

Soon the crowd of 20+ people had dwindled to about 10.

Team Burris showed up in full force and shot really well.

FMCDH and his son also showed up. It was nice seeing Mark again. It had been a few years.

A few of us were holding 18-20 inches of drift on the far targets. Cool stuff.

I was going to take some pictures but it didn't work out.

Results went out last night, let me know if you didn't get them.

I'm a little bit excited to shoot my now-repeating 40X this weekend!

Last time I was there was when we had big wind. That was at least consistent. Today was more on-off. Then it about died when I was finishing up. Good fun with a lot of where did it go? Lot's of good lessons. It would be interesting to set up some paper targets and get a more quantitative feel for the misses. Those berms and quartering winds can play some really interesting games.

Tricky winds today for sure. I am sure the wind chill was single digits till 11:00 or so. My hands were so cold working the bolt in a hurry was hard.

Today was the first time I can remember waiting for the 20 MPH winds to come back so I could keep shooting. Bullets were being blown about 2-3 feet at the 220 yard line.

Scooter, Drake and Mary Beth shot awesome today with the new rifle. You should be proud. In fact, with Marks son, junior shooters made up over 25% of the shooters today and over half the shooters today were shooting CZ rifles.

I will try and come up with a way to put some paper up as part of the match. Scoring is the main challenge with paper. Crossfires happen often at distance without huge NRA number boards.

Wish I could have made it today. Definitely one of my favorite matches but had family in town. Looking forward to next match.

That would make the trip down more worth it..

I'd like to attend this 22 rifle match, but will be my first time to do so. If someone could post the details of the match, I'd appreciate it. I'll be driving down from the Windsor/Loveland area.

My experience includes a lot of informal 22 shooting, but no matches. I do have some match CF rifle experience, and bullseye pistol, so I'm familiar with shooting under time requirements.

On the first post of this thread, I see what the match layout was all about. If you are still doing that type of match, no need to repeat for my post.

    Thanks.
