I think it would really depend on my position when they enter and whether or not I have a "mental inventory" of all non-combatants.

If I was caught in a bad position, I would likely comply and, if possible, lose the weapon on my person without drawing any attention to myself.

Good Lord willing I'd never find myself in that particular situation. Many variable to take into consideration here (i.e. the level of my situational awareness, how many friendlies in the way, do I have my family with me, etc.). Taking those out of the equation and knowing that I'm on my guard 100% of the time anywhere I go...I do know that assailants look for the path of least resistance. A mentally & physically trained person could get off some accurate hits on multiple targets fast then you just became a game changer for the shitheads. You also are gambling on how dedicated the threats are. Provided they start crapping their pants the minute hot lead is slung their way and leave a trail of fluids as they head for the getaway car, then you win. If they stand and fight, then you better be prepared for that. I don't like the idea of simply "lying down like good victim" and praying they don't decide to execute any & all witnesses just for the sake of aiding their departure, but that's me. He who dies with the most toys...still dies. I've vowed that I didn't serve my country at home and overseas just to come back home and have some pukesack kill me here. That being said, If I'm going down, I'm going down swinging. I'd rather die with my gun in my hand than secured safely in my holster.

"Lord, make me fast and accurate. Let my aim be true and my hand faster than those who would seek to destroy me. Grant me victory over my foes and those that wish to do harm to me and mine. Let not my last thought be, "If I only had my gun"; and Lord if today is truly the day that you call me home...let me die in a pile of empty brass."

Wow, this is a really crappy situation. Like cstone said, this is the opposite of winning the lottery.

After reading through all the responses here, I too was devising the best way to take them all out with my ccw... then some of the wise old fellers on the forum spoke up and I've changed my stance. While having a plan of attack and trigger points is certainly a necessity in a situation such as this, I think the best outcome is for you to escape with your life. There are different ways of doing that, and some paths may involve firing your weapon, while some paths may include allowing yourself to be victimized to a greater extent. I would like to go home to my family at night, but I fear that the adrenaline may encourage me to respond with very aggressive, life changing, paradigm altering force.

I've been shooting 3+x a week, but this thread proves to me that we can never train enough. I'm gonna go practice a few 4 person robbery hold up and get back to you all.

Btw: I think the other customers in the shop are the biggest disadvantage. I can't wait to see the surveillance footage bc if they are all stacked behind each other, awesom! Bc it would be easy to mow them all down. If they fanned out and covered all coners of the store, I think we would all be SOL.

Range report: it took me 7x until I was 100% accurate at 20yds. My first run I hit 3:8 shoots( yikes I suck). After several runs I increased pace and accuracy.
Target size: 12x12 plates and my only excuse was it's my gf glock....I don't claim to be a good handgun shooter and I have to say I'll keep practicing my draw, movement and multiple target engagements.
After my training today-I'll engage; Before today-I should have went prone on the ground.

How many of those targets were shooting back at you, separating in to 4 different sections of the store, using one of the people as a hostage / barrier ?

Next time you're in town, i'll see if i can borrow some simunition kits. Then we'll see how good anyone does. The 1st thing i became aware of is NO ONE WANTS TO GET SHOT / HIT. Even though everyone knows it's not a death a sentence if one gets hit by a simunition round. #2 is people are looking for cover. How many rounds that gun you carrying have ?
    Just saying.

    Bunch of amatures.
First perp I ninja death pinky touch (pow), i fly through the air and karate kick ninja death double pinky death touch (double pow) I figure this will have the other two either scared of my mad skills or throwing lead my way. Doesn't matter, my super speed and agility dodges rounds with the accurance of a flying squirrel . Third suspect gets the nut/pus kick that sends them flying into fouth suspect (zap pow). Dazed and confused i take them out with a flaming death blow (zing). Become instant hero, ticker tape parade and key to the city. Yes i am that good, fear me.

Crap situation, hope i am never faced with something like that.

I really like those visualization techniques. I have never lost a force on force conflict in my head.

No one knows what they will do till it happens. Things almost never happen the same way twice, and they are never the same as you imagined they would be. If things always went as planned, X's and O's would play football on chalkboards.
