Shitty deal, hopefully the robbers get caught and he gets his property back.

HB, you are in Cali, best to not comment on gun storage. (Or the dude that shot up his office will send his henchmen after you)

If the crooks had 2 or 3 hours, wouldn't they be able to get into most home safes?

With the right equipment, I'd say so. Noise would be another factor but most people nowadays don't pay any attention.

That sucks, I feel bad for the guy. What amazes me is when people have 10k plus worth of guns ammo valuables etc it a $400 safe...

Less than 1/2 hr, if noise isn't a problem, would be my estimate. Noise would extend the timeframe, presuming they weren't equipped to just rip out and transport the safe entirely.

You can't make anything truly secure, you can just try to make it more trouble than it's worth (presumably) to get to it.

    Thanks.

Oh, and there are some pretty good vidoes on YouTube that show how easy it is to break into most gun safes in a short amount of time.

Remember folks, locking up your stuff just keeps the honest people honest. The dishonest people are still going to find a way to get to it.

Is insurance going to cover anything? I recently found out that my homeowners only covers $2500 of firearms. I have a safe but, i'm definitely in the process of getting an umbrella policy.
My EDC: Handcuffs, Bandana, and Ball Gag.

If I'm ever at a party and the cops come to arrest people. Ill blindfold myself, throw the ball gag in, handcuff my hands, and hide in a closet. Police never arrest hostages!
