Have any reoccurring firearm related nightmares?

That is funny coincident you bring this up, just had a weird dream the other night, it was one of those that felt so real.

Wife, my boys in tow trying to run from these shadow monsters. In the dream I am armed, I go and turn around to shoot them, but when I go to use my gun, it is all of a sudden super small like a kids toy, barely fits in my hand and I can't pull the trigger as it is really hard. Its takes both hands to finally pull the trigger as I try to aim but it is all over the place, and it just goes "clank" like an old pop gun. Kept trying, but the same thing kept happening, just woke up before the dream ended. Yes frustrating.

The other nightmare I have is go to use a gun and it comes apart and I am trying to put it back together again.

Just recently I had a dream where someone was trying to rob me. I went to unholster my gun and was shocked to be pointing a dildo at the perp instead of my gun. I woke up absolutely furious.



I HATE nightmares about college.

I have dreams where I'm defending myself against wolves, hogs and what not with a shut gun than all of a sudden I'm ninja like with a katana slicing through random bad guys with two uzi's clipped to either side of me

Nightmares...that Obama became president...oh wait...guess that is a waking nightmare.

No real nightmares regarding firearms. Had several dreams where we were fighting zombies or Russians. 3 man fighting team. One shooting, one reloading, one watching everyone's back and ready to take over shooting once the shooter runs dry. The 3 keep changing positions in a circle in a really effective manner to keep the bad guys at bay.

I'd kind of like to see a general thread about reoccurring bad dreams as I've had some over the years that I thought were interesting, and I bet others have just as interesting dreams.

Can't say I've had any dreams like that. I consciously think about potential things that could have and try to minimize risk but don't dream about it.

Not sure where I read it, but this has been talked about among some "pros" of the industry. I've had dreams where I'm in a slow-motion state, the trigger was extremely difficult (heavy) and the bad guy was moving normal speed. In many cases the bullets were travelling at such a low velocity the target would be completely off the path of the bullet before it even got close to him. I was told that going to the range more frequently and saturating the range with copious amounts of drills would help eliminate dreams of this nature. Last summer I was on the range one & two times a week on the average and putting in some serious round counts. Turns out it worked, at least for me.

Worst dream I've had that fits this question......general overview went like so-Deadver was over run with the walking dead. There were compounds of people hiding behind gates......turned out to be cannibals. We jump a gate to evade the dead and run into a building. First room we go to is full of hippies smoking pot with a dead guy on one bed, and they say they have and opening....Left my brother with pot smokers in a compound who said he wouldnt make it on the outside, then found out they smoked pot to kill the feelings from living in teotwawki....with cannibals. as I went through the gruesome kitchen i grabbed some kitchen knives thinking i might need them. At this point it is me and an ally I called Texas in my dream (which was wierd, since he wore a NY yankees hat).....we are about to leave the building and the cannibals find us. I somehow only have a little .25 auto and the knives i had found, buddy runs as i empty the .25 without even phasing them and then precede to bruce lee kitchen knives into crazed cannibals but end up over run. What was worse is that my psyche fked with me and as i woke up i heard the crazy witch from the 13th warrior asking me "met my match, had i? met my match in the eaters of the dead?". Yes i had watched that movie a few days before lol.

I have reoccurring dreams about shooting my firearm and the bullets just sort of fall out of the end of the barrel. I've also had dreams where I get into a fight but my punches feel like I'm underwater and they land with little to no impact. We were talking after Krav one time with our instructor and he mentioned he has had the same types of dreams. Apparently they are super common with soldiers/LEO and others whose job it is to protect (i.e. husbands and fathers). It's basically your brain training you for a failure situation. Pretty freaking cool when your own body is training itself in it's sleep.
