Default That time of year again - looking for good tire deals.

Last time I got the best deal I could find for my wife's car at the dealership, believe it or not.

I've been looking at tirebuyer.com lately. Some good deals, offers and free shipping on some, but they don't have what I really like for her car. Anyone use these guys before?

Never used tirebuyer. Tirerack.com has a distribution center in Denver. You can order online and pick them up in Denver. No shipping fees. You can also use this to negotiate with local dealers.

I also may have a gently used set or two available shortly. What size do you need? Type of vehicle?

Yeah...some good deals on CL. Lots of near-new take-offs. Finding the right size is the hard part.

Ya, wish I was seeing near new BFG K02/Toyo AT/2/Duratrac's up for sale ;p

WTH is the difference between these 2. I guess LT is light truck, but both same size/appearance? Just dont know the fiddly numbers after the R to make one so much more expensive.

Biggest difference is the amount of material in the tire. The LT/E1 tire is 10 ply, designed for heavy vehicles and towing, the other is for mom-mobiles and is only 4 ply or so, and won't last for crap on a heavy vehicle.

The numbers I'm talking about whernt on that page. Already checked it. Think the extended numbers past the usual ratings is more model specific. Price difference I guess is just a light truck vs passenger tire.

LT going to be more durable offroad, but would winter traction be similiar between the 2 or also different I wonder. ..
