Default Best light mounting options for flashlights

I want to mount a light on my rifle--i've got a midwest fore end with keymod at 3/6/9, and picatinny on top. wanting to mount either a .83" or 1" flashlight. What's everyone using?

a keymodded hung of rail? ideally, i like the looks of and think i would like the light mounted at about the 10:30 position--not along the top rail or bottom--some sort of offset drop-down from the top, or offset "up" from the sides.

if you have something you like, or don't, please weigh in.

MFT mount on 45 degree rail mount. It gets it at the 45 degree position and is easily operated by the forward hand thumb.

Not quite at the 10:30 position but I love my vikings tactic mount. Price tag $25 and its gets the job done well. I like it more than my gear sector mount.

Another vote to VTAC light mounts. Cost effective and durable. I like mounting them on the top rail to get a 10 or 2 o'clock light position, depending on if I am using a a tail cap switch or a remote pressure switch. More expensive light mounts I have tried don't seem to work any better, they just cost more.

This is the Haley Strategic "Dropwing" mount. on a Colt M4 RAS rail. It is made by Impact Weapons Components for Haley Strategic. Their other mount that puts the light in essentially the same forward position but mounts directly to picatinny rails is called the "Thorntail". The flashlight pictured is a Surefire M300V. My reasoning for this mount is I liked the fact it pushed the light forward off the rail space so my hand could grip the forward part of the handguard without interference from the light.
