What is the maximum range on that scope I'm not too fimillar with scopes I've always ran a vortex sparc 2 and a magnifier on my ar15 or a 1-4x24 just getting into long range I'm just not sure how far I can get with the scopes I'm looking at

The scope is not the limiting factor for shooting long range. 9 times out of 10 it is the shooter.

If you are shooting at really small targets like prairie dogs, get lots of power. For large targets like 12 inch pie plates, 16-20 on the top end is just fine.

Would you recommend this type of scope for a varmint AR? I've seen the below combo on sale and it's piqued my interest.
