    Default Glock vs XD

Im sure this has been beat to death but Im in the market for one of these! I would like some real world feedback on the following models...pros and cons

    XDsc9/40...havent decided which caliber I want(already carry a .40)
    G26/27...same as above
    G19...because I dont have one

I havent really tried any of these guys on but I remember glock feeling weird in my hands. Ive only shot the compact XD45 and that was a great pistol. So anyways please leave some feedback like, you liked the XD trigger more than the glock etc...TIA

A couple of years ago I had a chance to shoot almost every Glock available at a training session, thought they were a great gun BUT they just never fit my hand right. The XD's I've had a chance to handle feel a lot better in my paws. That said I settled on a Walther P99 .40-it's all about personal preference !!

But for the record again I vote G19. If you're willing to try a new caliber there's nothing better than a G19. Run of the mill, FMJ 9mm is much cheaper than comparable .40.

However, if you already use .40 you might want to stick with a G27 or even a G23 (same size - Compact - as the G19).

If it doesn't feel "right" in your hand, how can you expect to become proficient in its operation? I'm a big fan of "personal philosophy of use." i.e: What is your purpose for owning it? What do you plan on doing with it? Desert Eagles (.50 cal) are fun to shoot, but just not practical for most situations (like concealed carry).

I like Glocks a lot and the G26 is a great gun, but I just can't stand my little pinky finger hanging down off the bottom of the handgrip... so I thought I would just get the +2 mag extension. That felt a lot better, but then I was handed a G19. Side by side, they are almost the exact same size, but the fuller grip on the G19 just felt "right" for me. The grip on XDs is not "right" for me, so I cannot enjoy shooting them as much. Walther grips fit my hands perfectly. Happy hands = happy shooting = better shooting experiences.

It's such a personal preference thing!

Personal preference is VERY important, but there are a few technical things that may occur with each pistol that may help guide you. For example... My XDM 9mm holds 19 plus 1, but yesterday I noticed that 2 of my mags do not eject very easily when full. This is not convenient when running quick action drills.

I know its all about personal preference and I tried both the G26 and the XDsc9 yesterday. I carry a Hk P2000 in .40 now and love it, I gave it some thought and I've decided against both the XD and the glock. I'm looking for another HK P2000 but the sk model in 9mm now. The XD felt better in my hands than the glock by far so if I were choose between the two, it would be the XD. Thanks for the comments guys

Glock all the way. It feels better in my hands, and they run great. I'm a big fan of the 19 and 23. Great after market support for glocks as well.

I had an xd I purchased soon after they began being imported by Springfield. It would not run well for me at all. It had alot of hiccups not caused by the operator.
