I will second going to college. I wasted thousands of dollars and years of my young life trying to get a piece of paper that I have come to find out means jack crap once you are in "corporate America". They should just teach one class in college: "It's Who You Know: how to exploit your connections to get ahead in Corporate America". That class would actually be helpful.

Gilpin has it right though, I wouldn't change a thing that I've done in the past because every decision I've made has me where I am now. While I'd like to have more money and less debt, I wouldn't trade my family or friends for all of the money in the world.

Well I just got my degree so hopefully I don't find it was a dumb thing to do...

I'd say the stupidest thing I ever did was letting other people make decisions for me.

It's a toss-up between moving back to Colorado, getting married, and going for my doctorate. They all caused misery and cost me thousands of dollars.

The stupidest thing so far(I'm still a work in progress ) is also the best thing so far: Opening and operating my own business. The way to make a small fortune in the motorcycle industry is to start with a large fortune and work from there. It truly is the job I love to hate. No security, no fringe benefits, but I'm doing what I love, and pretty much making a living at it.
