What is the stupidist thing you have ever done

I am sure we will get a lot of get married, blah, blah, blah. Come one think deep and remember the stupidist thing you have done in your young/old life?

I remember watching a tornando from a roof top as it ate up a neighbors fence and threw pickets up that missed my friends and my head by a couple inches. We didnt get down until the neighbor 3 houses down yell at us to get the hell off the roof.

Getting into guns as a hobby. Been breaking the bank for years.

Seriously though, going to college. I think I would have done better (financially) if I just went into the trades. I really regret that. Plus, it took about 10 years for me to shed the liberal indoctrination that was hidden into almost everything that I "learned" in college. "If I knew then what I know now" and all of that.

But the path I took lead me to my beautiful wife and kids, so no complaining here.

I've done lots of other stupid shit, but that's the most stupidest.

I think I'm in the "went to college" camp, but I'll specify further & say that choosing a private university was the stupid part. I had some great experiences, studied abroad 3 times, and parts of it were great. But I graduated in 2008 and with a bachelor's degree in international business, I could only find a job at Buffalo Wild Wings as a cook for $8.50 / hour. It's been a nightmare dealing with student loan payments that almost equal my rent.

Honestly, I like to think I'm a pretty good decision maker...

So the dumbest thing I've ever done, and really about the only thing I ever look back on and "regret", was trying to kiss my girlfriend in front of her parents back in high school. I'll just say it didn't go as planned.

I will second going to college. I wasted thousands of dollars and years of my young life trying to get a piece of paper that I have come to find out means jack crap once you are in "corporate America". They should just teach one class in college: "It's Who You Know: how to exploit your connections to get ahead in Corporate America". That class would actually be helpful.

Gilpin has it right though, I wouldn't change a thing that I've done in the past because every decision I've made has me where I am now. While I'd like to have more money and less debt, I wouldn't trade my family or friends for all of the money in the world.
