I blew 6 discs all at same time. Felt like a hot iron my legs and would move around. I visited a couple docs until I met Gary Ghiselle MD at Colorado spine off of orchard and I25. Best decision I made. No surgery for me but he uncovered a broken vertebrae and impingement nobody else saw.

    Tim,
I've been dealing with it since the mid 90's. Now you know why I walk the way I do. My version of running is a quick hobble. When it comes to "Fight or Flight" I have no choice.
I feel for you man, I know what you are going through. My last serious "spell" was just a few months ago, I had almost forgotten how bad it can be.
Have the Dr.s put you on the "Rack" to stretch out your back to relieve pressure on the effected nerves yet ?
My T.P. wheeling and dealing feedback is here.

I have had issues peripherally with arms and legs for years now. Thankfully none of it Spine related. Arm was repaired surgically to remove impingement from scar tissue on my Ulnar nerve. Legs have had bouts of incredible pain. I have taken Neurontin and similar drugs in the past.

yech...not anymore; I refuse. After the Navy overloaded me on 800mg Motrin, pain killers and muscle relaxants all before actually diagnosing the problem, the strongest thing I'll take anymore is Advil.

I've heard that it does help, each person is different.

Ha I hear you on the quick wobble deal. No they hadn't tried putting me on a rack since this originally occurred early 2012. Nail on the head with a "spell" that hit me. You know how it is to just have constant pain and beware of your movements to not chance a physical melt down. Biggest bummer from this one is that I can always feel it coming on before I completely lose my right leg but this time it was just lights out below the belt zero warning for both legs.

I'm a pretty private guy outside of my business especially with family matters but without sounding mushy this place feels like extended family to me. I was looking for insight on possible topics to talk with my doc about for possible treatments since the "let's just wait to see how far your body heals the nerves itself after all the p/t" has gotten old and little progress. So I felt comfortable throwing a post up looking for insight.

I'm not one to sit around literally but wasn't given the choice physically however mentally I'm still running and I also know that I'm very fortunate to be here to even bring up the topic. There are so many folks that have it a million times worse than I do and I felt guilt after my original post for this reason however I need to find a way to improve the quality of life more for the family than myself to be honest.

Thanks again guys and every bit of info or Dr. Names I have been given so far. I will pursue all of these ideas and procedures with my doc to see if something might be an option.
