Can a pistol in Colorado be CCW and/or carried in a car loaded with a vertical grip? This assumes that the pistol is complete with proper NFA tax stamp.
Looked up the laws at least I thought were the laws but no mention of this.

A pistol is a Pistol. Providing it is compliant with any and all NFA regs

If you have a proper tax stamp, why is it a pistol?

From what I understand a pistol can not have a vertical grip. If you have a tax stamp it's not a pistol and you can do whatever you want

I believe the question is, because Colorado has a concealed HANDGUN permit, if a handgun is converted into an AOW will the permit still cover it?
IE, is an AOW based on a handgun still a handgun, or something else?
Off the top of my head (read: zero research), I think it's something else and not covered by a CHP.

CCW permit has no relevance to the proposed situation. In Colorado, a pistol can be chambered inside a vehicle, regardless of ccw status. Sounds like the question is, if a pistol (likely ar lower built as a pistol) has a vertical foregrip (with legal documentation), can it still have a round chambered under Colorado law?
Personally, I'd think you'd have an issue with any variation of an AR having a round chambered, and the vertical foregrip won't matter in the shadow of the fact that it would most likely be recognized as some ar variant. Just my opinion. Could be wrong.

If stamp is for AOW, then it's no longer considered a pistol. Basically, I see the forward vert. grip as an issue. A pistol can't have a forward vert. grip. A "handgun" can be carried concealed in your vehicle in Colorado without a CHP.
If you're asking if an AOW can have a round chambered in a vehicle...not sure that is "specifically" covered. But, since it's only stated that a "handgun" can have a round chambered, it appears to preclude an AOW.

Keep in mind that a Magpul angled foregrip doesn't count as a vertical grip and can be put on a pistol without registering it as an AOW.
