    Default Aflac supplemental insurance

Being offered thru my work. Supplemental policy my choice or all accidental, cancer, medical, and I can't remember the fourth one. Anyone have/use? Thinking of getting the accidental and hospital policies. Any advice is appreciated. Never been offered to me before.

Yes on the hospital, accident, and what ever else your budget allows.

I have it. It is a nice supplement but only helps with "bigger" accidents.

I also have Combined Health accident insurance. If I remember, it's cheaper per month. I do also know that it pays out for a whole lot more accidents, including small accidents. I have had mannnny accidents over the years and have benefited quite a bit from my policy.

Check both of them out. If I could choose only one, hands down Combined.

...Oh, and yes, you can have more than one policy. You can have an accident policy from every insurance company out there that sells it if you want.

I like being paid from Aflac AND Combined when I get hurt

Wife's family has had it in the past. Saved their bacon when her mom got cancer. If it's being offered through work and a nice discount, you could do worse.

Well not sure of the discount I am getting, they didn't break it down that much to us. For all 4 policies its around 120.00. The fourth one is for specific illnesses, for example stroke, coma, organ transplant etc...If something happens the benefits seem pretty darn good to me, especially now that I am in my mid-40's. One medium sized accident and the payout would pay for the premiums.

I will have to check into that Combined Insurance also. Not sure if I need that much...I work in an office environment, my manual labor days are behind me. The most action I see is cutting my grass!

Mid 40's eh. OH NO he's getting old. Our daughter is almost that age, Mid 40's

You're shoveling the snow drift, slip and break an arm, wrist, hell anything. Yeah it's not the workplace, BUT you're Covered. Again IF you can afford it why not. With todays ins lack of coverage and higher deductibles, one cannot have too much support.

Our friend (never goes to the doc) He bitches about chest pains 2 weeks, on & on. FINALLY while he's over our place says I'm not feeling good. WELL GO TO THE FUKIN DOCTOR NOW!!. Oh it's nothing... Go now or we call 911. Next day he's having triple bypass. Without Aflac, they would have been beyond broke and selling the house to cover what that "Gold Plan" ins didn't.

I think my stand alone Combined Insurance accident policy is only about $18/month. That monthly premium goes up I think 2% per year but so do the payouts!

Of course any insurance is a gamble. Hopefully none of us need it, but if we do, it's a life saver.

Wow that is pretty good. Family or single? My rates would be double that amount as prices quoted are semi-monthly...and I am looking at family. I still have my work insurance, STD and LTD, and all the other bells and whistles.

Get the coverage for you and your wife. You or the wife's ins. should cover the kids. It might also be cheaper to get separate plans. There's no , or was no clause prohibiting separate policies. It may be cheaper that way.
