RUMOR: Bass Pro buyout of Cabelas was finalized this week

When shot was 40 to at the MOST 45 bucks a bag, Bass Pro had it.......for 50 BUCKS A BAG!@!! And it was still there, week after week after week, and it was still 50 bucks a bag.
Don't even get me started on their firearm prices. Might as well call it "Bass/Gander Mt./Pro". New price "plus" for used guns.
Honestly, I've been in Bass Pro half a dozen times, and NEVER bought anything.
If this is true, it's time to cancel my Cabela's credit card. When I used to fly into Sidney, Nebraska, Cabela's sent the van out to pick me up from the airport. You just called in to the FBO and requested the Cabela's van. I DON'T see AssPro doing that. Maybe with a 50 dollar taxi bill...

When there was one Cabela's, it was great. When there was a couple, again, it was great. When there are TWO in the Denver area, there's a problem. (You know, "hey, why don't we open a store in Denver? HEY why don't we open TWO???) Once again, thousands suffer because of BAD management.

Sucks to see what sounds like a better company getting swallowed by a crappy company.

I've been to Cabelas maybe 10 times in my life.

I've been to Bass Pro once.

I like Sportsmans and the internet.

Admittedly I don't know the ins and outs of the business side of the two companies, but I never in a million years would have thought Cabelas would be bought out by Bass Pro, the other way around, sure.

Cabellas has way cheaper primers than Sportsmans. More available too.

In my experience, lately, Bass Pros CS is head and shoulders above Cabelas. I can't get arrested in Cabelas.

That was a fast way to get there wasn't it? 50 min flying time vs several hours on the highway. Took several friends there. I thought the van idea was great, I wonder if they still do that in Sidney?
