Default More good news in the OPM data breach

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...d-in-breaches/

One of the scariest parts of the massive cybersecurity breaches at the Office of Personnel Management just got worse: The agency now says 5.6 million people's fingerprints were stolen as part of the hacks.
That's more than five times the 1.1 million figure the agency had cited in earlier updates after the cyberattacks were disclosed over the summer. However, the agency said the total number of those believed to be caught up in the breaches remains the same.

How did you know you were part of it? Did you get a notification or something. I am .mil etc and other than the general emails I have gotten nothing specific. Wondering if I missed something.

As a current .gov employee it is disturbing I read about this fingerprint info first from the Wash Post instead of from OPM or my agency.

More proof of .gov incompetence. We would be better off with Eric Snowden as president. Only real way to secure data is with biometric controls as an added security measure. Are finger print readers such a big hassle to implement? Retinal scanners? They have this technology at the Cape Canaveral Air Force station as a routine measure. And this is what they published in the local paper, so don't flame me!
