I clicked on the "CO is an open carry" state" link in the OP. There's a lot of incorrect information on that page re: Colorado and/or Denver law.

the story is kinda vague, did the officers restrain him and forcefully take his piece and id? he said “without consent, and emptied it of ammunition.”, in my mind taking my weapon without consent means im on my belly in cuffs and they take it, if this were the case doesnt it seem redundant to order the man to hand over his id? sounds more like he handed them the weapon which would be consent.

i have heard of police unloading CC weapons during traffic stops (in states where you have to inform the LEO you are carrying) and such, i can understand a LEO feeling uncomfortable about talking to an armed person that someone had complained about, i am not condoning their actions at all as i dont know the details of the altercation.

    need more info.

Not sure of the details. That's why I was asking to see if anyone else had any information or head anything about the event.

I think it's still another citizen panic call to the police not knowing the laws.

I seem to remember a post awhile back on opencarry.org about this but I'm not 100% sure.
yup-reported in Loveland paper 7/17/09. ACLU involved.
