Default Advice on reloading for 30 carbine.

    Hey folks,
So I wanted to relad for the 30 carbine but I see that the savings for this round are minimal. Probably around 3cents a round at best and that does not include brass cost. Buying the Privi or other non remington ammo seems cheaper than reloading if I sell the brass. The bullets are the deal killer here and FMJs are expensive in the 308 110gr variety. I want to stay with FMJ and run the round at full velocity, so Berrys etc are no go with their 1100 fps limit.

What gives? Any of you have the same experiance? Am I just not finding the right deals on bullets here?

Armscorp makes a pretty cheap plinking bullet. They run about 10-12 cents each.

You can also find Hornady FMJs for 15-16 each.

I have shot some plated well past 1100 and while accuracy was not stellar, it was minute of coyote.

Get a bunch of H-110 and head to the races.

    H,
Thanks for the info. The armscor projectiles are sold out but I will keep looking.
Your comment about plated made me take another look at berrys bullets. For the 110gr bullets they advertize they are good up to 1950fps, this is right in the range of the h110 recepie from speer.

I may give this a try.
    Thanks.
