    Default Need a bumper painted...

Some asshat hit me in the parking lot the other day and jacked up my bumper. The cost of a new Tacoma bumper is 200 bucks, but the body shop wants 400 just to paint it! WTF!? Anyone know of a good, reputable body shop in Colorado Springs that can do it for a much more reasonable price?

Spray it with Plastidip, will cost you about $20 and a few hours of time.

I was just coming in the thread to say that, look at my truck thread. Think I had pics of the bumpers done in there. (Chrome turned black to match center.)

Good luck with body shops right now. They're all so busy they don't even know what to do. I made an appointment a month in advance and 30 days later, they still haven't started work. This was only $1000 in damage too. Nothing major. Id do anything I could to avoid a body shop.

This sounds familiar. I couple of years ago I had someone back into the front end of my Tacoma at low speed in a parking lot. I figured I'd find a straight bumper cover on CL and then have it painted by a local shop. I figured I'd pay $150-$200 but was shocked that the cheapest I found around here was $450ish. I ended up lucking out and buying an All-Pro that my buddy sawed a young deer in half with and his insurance paid for a brand new one along with the other damage that occurred from the deer carcass. I paid less for the entire plate bumper than I would have paid to just have a factory bumper cover painted. Not everyone can find a deal like that but I guess my point is it might be a good time to consider plate bumpers given the cost of paint alone.

Pic for reference & possibly to help light the mod-bug fire:
