I don't think he had a choice but to change his rhetoric and start agreeing 2+2=4. Take away everything else he has done in the last seven years, the politics of this alone was getting impossible for him. What it will do to Dems politically remains to be seen.

And, if he knows more attacks are coming, he can't just keep saying the same nonsensical Leftist things.
