    Default Renew Permit

My CCW permit expires on 4/27/2016. Do I have to wait for that date to renew or can I do it say like in Feb? Received in Larimer County but have since moved to Weld County. When I moved Larimer County issued a new one to me with my Weld County address. But when I renew I go to Weld County correct? Thanks

That answered on of my question but what about the date? Do I have to wait until the date it expires or like 30 days before? I understand I need to renew with Weld County.

In Weld County, you can renew 120 days before the expiration date. I'd wait until then and try to renew. I imagine you'll be able to.

You do not need to wait. I waited and they made me feel like I was silly for doing so, because your permit expires between the time you apply and when your new one comes in.

Call and ask. When I renewed in Arapahoe, I was in and out in about 30 minutes, New permit in hand.

I don't know about your county, but Arapahoe county has same day renewal. I went in 118 days before my expiration, I was expecting the same wait time as my original, and walked out 30 minutes later with my new permit.

I also lost three months of valid time on my new permit. The 5 years the permit is valid started the day it was renewed.

I went in to Arapahoe Sheriff and asked the lady at the front desk. She told me to wait until it was closer to expiring because the new time period starts the day the permit is issued. She said it is a relatively quick process, so I waited until one week before it expired. In and out in 45 minutes as they were kinda busy.

In Jeffco, it took 23 days for my renewal to be processed(in 2013), so check with your county.
