It varies by county for sure... Fremont county took more than 30 days for a renewal, iirc

Hey, La Plata county just took my renewal form in and said it would be 8 to 9 weeks.... How is it that other counties can have you in and out with a new permit in 45mins and my county is that far off the back?

Not sure if it's the same for every county but Boulder let's you submit renewal form 120 days prior to current permit expiring. Although the replacement comes sooner than 120 days, they date the start-date on the replacement the day after the old one expires so you don't pay for any overlap.

I'm going to be behind on the renewal to expiry curve. My CCW expires the 22nd of this month and with an 8-9 week lag I'm looking at being without for about 6 weeks. I was hoping for some additional info that I could convey to the SO that might get them moving faster on the renewal. Oh well..

Just let them know that your need to protect yourself is more important than those in front of you, so they should expedite yours because you waited too long...

I think that's a good question to ask of the sheriff. He's a Democrat, isn't he? Call him and ask if that's the reason they can't/won't process renewals in a reasonable time.

Next time remind yourself that the government is involved.

Arapahoe renewed mine same day, and that was with a change in county of residence. My permit had been originally issued in Adams.

When I moved Larimer County issued a new one to me with my Weld County address. But when I renew I go to Weld County correct? Thanks

I'm also w/ WC and had to renew last year. I was able to get online and do the renewal. They just reused my current picture and sent me a new CCW ID.
