I was talking with our LE rep today and he stated most LE agencies in the state are sending their EOTechs back. There apparently has been substantial drift observed. My agency is going to join them as soon as we can pony up the cost of new Aimpoint Pro's for all our rifles. It becomes an issue now if a LEO was to shoot someone with an EOTech sighted rifle and there was an issue with the shoot. Any subsequent lawsuit will ask the obvious question as to why, if the agency knew of the recall, didn't the agency take the sight out of service. That could become expensive in a civil suit.

They are a small part of a much larger company, they won't fold.

My feelings are this... Somewhere down the line they discovered the issue. They made a business decision to keep it quit and replace those who made noise... Once SOCOM caught on to the issues it went big. Someone knew... It's why they aren't fighting and aren't afraid. The issue, I'm guessing it was a manufacturing problem has been fixed. The cheap parts replaced and they'll take a few years of weak sales and then land a big contract... Everyone will use them again.

Any word on how the refund is issued?

Regardless, I use this thing on duty, if I need to take a longer shot and the conditions happen to be bad (the conditions never seem to be favorable either, do they?) I'll trust myself with iron sights. Iron sights aren't prone to cold weather shift, so I'll trust in those.
I don't make the rules. I just think them up and write them down.

In the email I got this morning from them it said that the refund is approved, had instructions about how to return it, and said they would process the refund as soon as possible (whatever that means).

I've been wondering about this. Whether it was the manufacturing, or technology and that's as good as it exists today, or if they can actually produce a dependable sight without POI shift. Does anyone know for sure either way that they can fix the issues?

I got this email about a week ago:

"Your product has been received and reviewed by EOTech and your refund is being processed. You will be updated by e-mail in the near future regarding check processing.

    Thank You,

    EOTech"

No word on the amount or how it'll be sent to me though. I put the purchase price in the original request and have the receipt for proof.

I've considered sending my exps2-0 in for a refund, but it's working fine, and I have yet to hear of a single refund check confirmed...

so unless I'm sure I'll get something back, I'll just keep using it (unless I see a big zero shift)
