The storage cabs got put in place and doors installed. The last cab on the loading run is in, too.

The tops are 1 1/4" MDF. They'll get stained a darker color then top coated. It's cheap enough I'll just replace it when it gets too ratty looking.

What kind of base trim are you planning?

I cut 5" base trim out of 1/2" mdf today. It's just going to have a chamfer on top to match the countertop edges. The case molding is 3" mdf in 5/8" thick, same detail. It will all get painted, along with the doors, in a muted earthy orange.

Including the tops, I used 39 sheets of material. There are a total of 35 drawers! I may have gotten a little carried away. Fortunately, Hoser and Stu talked me out of even more cabinets along two more walls.

Sounds great, I like tall base trim.

That would so drive me nuts knowing there is still white paint on the walls behind those cabinets.

That's extremely common. Why waste the paint?

Less a statement on construction practices and more a statement on obsessive compulsive types that would want to "fix" it.
