    Default 338 Federal in AR-10

I've been looking at the 338 Federal and I've started to like the idea of running this in an AR-10 for hunting purposes. Does anyone have experience running this round in an AR-10? Also if so what barrel length do you recommend? Thanks for the help.

I think my step dad has one. I can check with him later and see what he thinks about it.

It's kind of a dog of a round in my experience. I got to play with one on a range day and the ballistics are pretty bad. At 500y it was dropping like a rock. I was actually pretty surprised at how slow and low it was hitting. I think at 100-200y it would work, but past that it seemed like we were lobbing them out. I would definitely go with a 6.5mm in that caliber. I think like the velocity and accuracy would be more beneficial than bullet weight. I am not a hunter, so I don't know the statistics for energy on target but it seems to have a very limited range.
If your post count is higher than your round count, you are a troll.
