I'm serious - don't whine at me if you keep reading.
What the hell did I just watch? On the one hand, it was better than the last three combined. On the other, it was major plot elements from the first three
movies made into one movie. Go ahead and tell me which movie these were from:
-Secret data hidden on a droid. Both sides REALLY want to obtain it.
-Giant planet that has a beam that kills other planets. Has a weakness and needs to be stopped.
-Child of someone with the force switches to the other side of the force than the parent.
-Said child fights his father (who dies) after an emotional plea to be a good guy.
-Lots of sneaking around and avoiding patrols (and eventually fighting) on the giant planet that kills other planets.
-Millenium Falcon, in no particular order (which is having some technical problems) smuggles the wanted droid, is called a piece of junk, and winds up fighting a bunch of tie fighters.
Also - While Luke needs a lot of training to harness the power of the force, this chick nails the Jedi mind trick on the second try without ever knowing what the Jedi mind trick even is. She just does it. She can also outmatch someone trained in the force in a light saber duel.
At least it wasn't all CGI and light saber dancing.
