Default Pro Mags: Good or bad?

So I bought a FEG 35 (A/K/A Hungarian Hi Power) and while the gun seems to function fine, the magazine the gun came with sucks donkey balls. Don't know if the feed lips are bent (they don't look like it) but it doesn't like to feed.

Shopping around for magazines. I would have figured that for a gun as common as the Hi Power they'd be cheap and plentiful but what I'm finding is that Browning branded mags are $40+. I've had experience with cheap Mec-Gar mags and would prefer to avoid them. Then I see something called a "pro-mag." Any thoughts? Is it just a re-branded Mec-Gar? I don't want to spend forty bucks on one magazine but if I have to I will, just don't want to potentially pass on a good deal.

    Thanks in advance!

My opinion... Pro mag is garbage.

I'd go with the Mec Gar. They make the factory magazines for Sig, Beretta, CZ, etc.

Good find Ray on the factory Hi-Power mags, I need to pick up a couple of those. That is a real good price and I only have three with mine.

    Thank you! 2 mags ordered.

I had checked GB and best I could find was $30 + $10 shipping for one genuine Browning mag.

Mec-gar had always done well for me.

My experience with Hi Power mags is factory or Mecgar are the only wise choices

That's due to Mec-Gar being the mfg for a good portion of the hand gun industries magazines. ANYTHING but Promag. Unless you need a mag body for another project.
