UPDATE: Just wanted to say I finally got a chance to go to the range the gun shoots like a DREAM with the Browning mags. Thanks for the recommendations!

The mag that the gun came with went straight into the trash.

Also ordered a set of smooth grips. Since the surface is somewhat pitted and the finish worn off, and since this is not a particularly "collectible" gun (FEG 35's are not at all uncommon) I think I am going to have this one Dura Coated. I'll post the results once it's done.
