Just bought a Used Mint Condition ACOG TA33R-8

Picked up a used sold to my friend at BRAVO Arms and manufactured in late 2010. Looking on gun broker and found two at http://www.gunbroker.com/All/BI.aspx...s=ACOG+TA33R-8 . I have the pelican case and original items to include a never registered product registration card. Since I don't know much about optics I assume that I'm not supposed to see anything in a total pitch black situation? My garage at night for example. However, looking out into the open area and having a light off in the distance I can see the chevron. Does this sound like it should be. I seem to like the fact that I can pick up a EOTEC at the local store and know that when you turn it on there is always has illumination. Anyways, just wanted to share and see if it's supposed to be dark to total darkness without being able to call ACOG on a Sunday. I have $825.00 and know that sounds pretty decent. Glass looks crystal clear in the daylight. My Christmas present to myself and may put it on the HK SL8-6.
