Liberals never met a slippery slope they didn't grease.

I wish technology solved people issues. It seems to just reveal them.

You should read the bashing on one of the other m-4 sites. It's a treat.
I think this would be pretty cool but not for their asking price.

Price is ridiculous. I've fired full auto before and my opinion is this: full auto has limited application for certain mounted machine guns, but is marginally effective (at the hands of most shooters) from anything lightweight. I'm afraid most people view shot volume as a valid replacement for shot placement, but this is only true under certain limited circumstances (like suppressing fire). That being said, if I could legally own a machine gun for the same price as a semi-auto version, I would gladly do so, just for grins and giggles.

I'd say that even for 2 or 3x the price of the Semi version, I'd own a same model select fire. It's always preferable to have options and choice.
Problem is for us mere mortals that don't have the facility to get an SOT or have unlimited discretionary income, 20x the cost of a semi is prohibitive. My feels are hurt by my government's continued restriction of my rights.

But the reality is that a full auto AR should cost no more than a semi auto version. Stamping or machining a full auto trigger group is certainly not any more expensive. Most ARs sold nowadays come with "full auto" BCGs and I'm 99% sure that all the other parts are the same. You may choose to use a few different parts on a full auto version, but you don't need to.

I've fired a Ruger Mini-14 set up like this, though without the option of standard semi-auto. It's was fun enough, and you can burn up some ammo. No way would I own that version. I'd get the Franklin on if it were only an extra 100. They used to call this a dead man's trigger I think. And they used to make a setup for the 10/22 as well. The problem with the set up is you MUST fire 2 shots every time you pull the trigger. Not always a good thing.
