Default InRange TV slaughter sacred cow

Ian and Karl at InRangeTV have been doing mud tests on several rifles.

So far most have failed miserably (including the AK ... yes you read that right the AK ... but it gets worse for you commie gun lovers*, the AR passed with flying colors).

Links to some of the other vids (no sense in embedding all of them)

    M1 Garand
Full review of KelTec RDB (new 556 bullpup ... includes mud test but is about an hour long ... mud test runs from 30:27 to 45:28)
M1A vs MAS 49/56 vs AR (slightly different methodology than the others ... oh and the TL;DR version is that the MAS and AR do well ... M1A not so much)

Now we sit and wait for the AK fanboys to come unglued and find all sorts of fault with the test.

I find it kind of funny that the test with the open dust cover on the AR sends a nice dust cover sized twig or something flying on the first round.

Throw some Quikrete into that wheelbarrow and see how they perform...

Meh. IMO the SKS is a superior rifle anyway.

ETA: Superior to the AK I mean. I think the AR is superior to both, especially in its current configuration.

This test is invalid. That AK looks like some sort of Century Arms model.

On a serious note, I've never taken these sorts of tests too seriously. They aren't very scientific. For starters, they use one specific firearm and not a sample of them. I mean all they really proved is that their one particular AK didn't perform well in this particular test. It really has no impact on how another AK may perform. Or the AR for that matter. I will be careful with my AK's just in case. I'll try to avoid intentionally making a wheelbarrow full of sloppy mud and then shoveling it all over my rifle. Just in case.
