    Default Keymod or M-LOK?

Looking at changing things up and just wanted to see what others opinions are. I may be adding a WML or a bipod mount at some point in time. Which type has a larger parts availability and a stronger following/future? Any advice is appreciated.

I think they are pretty neck and neck right now. M-Lok may have a slight edge and I believe will have more accessories in the end. I actually like the way the Keymod locks up better then M-Lok but in the end I have decided to go M-Lok. Magpul being behind the platform and having their products bolt right up (RVG's etc.) was a big factor.

I still use keymode. But you can't go wrong either way. If you use all magpul then m-lok would be the better choice.

Went mlok because eventually magpul will overwhelm the competition with accessories

It's a measure of the civility in this country that no ones seems to fear constantly pissing off the people who own lots of guns.

I've got both but I am leaning towards changing my one keymod hand guard out to an M-LOK. The M-LOK does seem a bit lighter but I don't have numbers to back that up, more of a feel.

I agree that they are about equal in terms of availability and options. To me it comes down to a decision of having a slotty handguard vs having a penisy handguard.

    M-Lok.
Keymod is dying a slow death just like rails.

Which handguard were you looking at? From these responses, I'm leaning towards M-LOK. The same rail with Keymod is a few bucks more. Like $4 more lol. Could do a handguard install party at my place...

Either. I disagree that keymod is dying. Watching who is using which system and who is making parts for which system, I see neither being overlooked for the other.

M-lock is heavier, but also stronger and just barely heavier.

The biggest difference in them is selection of aftermarket products. If you like the BCM fore grip (keymod) as a hand stop or you like the AFG (M-lock) more, then the choice in these parts will dictate which rail. QD sling mounts, bipod mounts light mounts, all the same. If you don't particularly care on aftermarket parts, then choose by aesthetics.

    I have both.

Impact Weapons Components has figured out how to make accessories that work on both with the same part.
Mom's comin' 'round to put it back the way it ought to be.
