    Default Truck hit while parked

My younger son called me this afternoon to tell me a nice young lady lost it on our street and nailed my Tahoe parked in front of the house. Sigh, he took all kinds of pics (even her dl and insurance card), sent them to me. I called her insurance (Progressive) and started the process, now sitting down to fill out the accident report to mail in to the county, oh joy.

It could've been worse, I can drive it no problem. Thankfully I have some of that lovely clear red tape to cover up the tail light but the quarter panel and bumper are toast. Heading over in the morning to get an estimate then let the games begin.

The amazing part is that my son's vehicle was parked about 2 feet behind mine and she didn't hit both of them!

That sucks. I hope it goes smooth for you.

Hell at least she was insured and didn't run! Did your son get a date out of the deal too?

Glad you got the info and he had the knowledge to get everything documented just in case.

You can file the report online. I've had to do it three times now. The last time my truck was hit was in the parking lot at work. Company wide email and no one came forward to take responsibility.

Yeap, as bad as it sucks, could have been a lot worse, a stand up lady that has insurance and was upfront enough to give the info to your son, I'd say it was just a bump in the road. Sucks but could be a LOT worse.

Wish it would have went down like that when some jackass hit my daughter's car in the middle of the night and just split.

Sounds like you're at fault. Better call a lawyer.

I had jury for a case similar to this. Guy was trying to sue a 16 year old boy (and his parents) for having a parked car in a neighborhood when HE slide into it. I didn't get picked for a few reasons I'm sure.

Could have been worse. You might be able to squeeze a rental out of them.
