Default Reflex Optics on Handguns (Dot choices)

considering mounting an RMR on a handgun--wondering if anyone (1) has experience using them; and, (2) what dot do you prefer?

seems the choices run from 3.25 MOA to all the way up to 12.9MOA. Any input on size, color, and shape would be helpful.

I'm not wed to the RMR, but it seems to be the one that gets the best reviews (and co-witnesses on an M&P CORE)

You plan on shooting USPSA Open class?
If the Odds are equal, you're doing it wrong

Instead of starting my own thread is there anyone else with input on this? I'm considering this also, just for fun and something different. Like to hear more opinions if they are out there. Thanks.

I have a Burris FF3 and a SI glock rear sight mount, I haven't mounted it yet but overall the optic looks clear. My only concern is the sight is going to sit a little above the slide but hopefully I can give you my 2c/review after I hit the range

So I have a Leupold DeltaPoint on a M&P with 7.5 MOA dot, and a Glock MOS 34 with a burris Fastfire 3 on it with a 3MOA dot, that I carry for work. And honestly I like both. The FF3 makes it a little easier to adjust if your running Iron sights with your pistol as the adjustment screws are on the top and the side. The Delta point has 2 locking screws in the back that is a pita to get too if your running a rear sight. I've never had problem seeing either dot in the bright sunlight, but the Delta Point triangle uses a different lighting system as I'm told, also I have a older model so I can't adjust the brightness. The FF3 at its Highest setting works good with all day lights in Colorado, the Med setting is "ok" and the low setting is invisible outside. If your not a dot shooter go with the bigger DOT, as the smaller dot can get lost pretty easy if your not train well behind the glass.

We have a M&P core setup with a 3.5 RMR at the shop right now, and the setup looks great but we are having trouble with the dot just "magically turning off. It also appears you have to remove the unit if you want to replace the battery as with the FF3 you do not need to, and I Believe the newer Delta Point also do not require removal of the unit to change out the battery

RM06 is the gold standard for MRD on a handgun. Small, adjustable dot and long battery life.

RMR's are built like a tank. Here's a guy beating the hell out of one on an XD:
