I have taken the batteries out of my amplified ear muffs once, and just went with out the amplification. Worked perfectly for several hours and I put the batteries back in my muffs afterward. There's also a travel charger for it that can plug into your car while you're headed to the range or once you get there...

    They're like $10 each for these accessories... I thought they were well worth it.
