Default Help me help little old ladies and single moms

Here's the deal. I own a cabinet business up in Woodland Park. I'd very much like to do some free minor home repairs for widows or single moms. I've tried advertising on Craig's List, but some ding dong keeps flagging my posts.

I'm a licensed and insured contractor (Type E, El Paso County), although I don't do much of that anymore. I'm moderately capable of doing most anything around the house.

I'm having surprising difficulty finding people who need help. If you know someone who just can't afford to pay someone to do whatever needs doing, would you please direct them my way? Some of the IPSC guys here know me, so I can give references if needed.

In a perfect world, I'd like to work in Teller County, but I could go to ElPaso if necessary.

    Thanks!

    Tim

I belong to a local men's group at my church that does what your talking about. We have teams of men that sort of adopt widows and single mom's and once a month we go to these homes and do everyday chores and seasonal work that they can't do. I'd start at your local church and get the word out through them.Good Luck.
Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to Fight, he'll just kill you.

Hey, If I dump my wife, would you fix up her cabinets?

I wish you luck. That's a very cool thing you're doing.

Tim, while I used to do a lot of work with unwed mothers (just giving them their start and all) , I'm not really connected enough anymore to point anyone in your direction.

I guess I really just wanted to second the previous comment and tell you how great it is that you are trying to do this. For everyones sake, I hope you find some folks who can use your help.

Good on you for wanting to help people out.

Just for single moms and widows?
    What about disabled persons?,,or elderly?

Just a thought about Craigslist,,there has been some nefarious post on there.
Yours might be misleading to some, who may think it a scam.

Best of luck,,I'd say go through a church or other organization.
    Maybe try Habitat for Humanity?
