Default Buying a Supressor from a individual?

I guess I should never say never. Didn't think I would ever buy a can for my center fire bolt rifle, would have to get one of those fancy can covers, snarl at the guys running brakes, try to get squaded at Raton with cans only....! A good friend is offering his 30P for a price I can't pass up. Need guidance buying the can from my buddy, neither of us know how to go about it.

    Thanks, Kevin

If both individuals are residents of the same state you'll use a form 4 for a direct transfer from the seller to the buyer (buyer completes the F4).

Nothing more to it. You fill out the Form 4 with the info copied off his F4. EXCEPT his personal info / trust name etc.

If you are doing it as an individual. Get a sign off from your CLEO (Sheriff) If a trust. Fill in the blanks. Send a check for $200 along with copy of trust and your F4 to the ATF.

There's a few discussions here about filing out Form 4's & 1's, as well as a simple search on line.

I agree with your post but thought you also had to get a BGC. I could be wrong but everytime I have picked up a new NFA toy I thought they had to get a BGC. I would also add the obvious just to cover the bases. You cannot take possesion of the NFA item until you have the Form4 in your hands. It being filed is not enough.

No CBI as of now on suppressors. Not considered a firearm. You still fill out a 4473 though.

Oh this is going to be sweet, we're chipping away at you knuckle draggers hahahahaha.

Lets see, if we can just get Scotty, you, and about a half dozen others to come over to the quiet side of things.........

Just kidding. But it is definitely nice, never really thought I'd go there either and now I've got 4 of the damn things and 2 more waiting on stamps.
