My work laptop is a Lenovo, and batteries are really sketchy. My most recent one had to have the battery replaced when it was brand new!
I've beat the heck out of my iPad2 for years with no problems.
I had this problem with my Lenovo for work. Since it was a work machine, we could not adjust any settings. I had to tape a double strip of paper over the pad to reduce sensitivity enough for it to be usable.
