    Default Process server recommendation

    Hi all,
I have some small claims court documents that need to be served in the SE Aurora area. The sheriff was unable to get it done and now I need an alternative. It needs to be done within the next three days. Does anyone have a recommendation? I line in the Aurora area as well.

    Thanks.

Are there any special requirements to be a process server?

Anyone can serve documents as long as they are not a party and they do not have any personal interests in the case. Most law firms have people on staff that do that.

Try TheGrey. If it's not in her wheelhouse, she will likely have contacts.

Unless it has changed from 20-ish years ago, not really. Technically, you are an Officer of the Court while serving papers, but that only lets the authorities ramp up charges if you are assaulted. Zero protection/benefit for you.

It can be fairly easy pocket money, if you have a good source, and the time on your hands to research and serve.

I looked it up and Colorado is not one of the states that required a person to be licensed to serve papers.

Prong, I was going to offer up my help, but I don't think I'm your guy. May want to contact The Grey on here.

Sent you a PM, Prong, along with 2 process servers contact info. One of them was Magnum-Diego, who Foxtrot also recommended. The other lives in Aurora, so it's in his backyard.

I second the extension- two days is a very small amount of time, especially when the Process Servers book up a couple of weeks in advance.

    Bumping this one up....

I just filed small claims relating to one of my car accidents. Should I just have sheriff do the serving, or find someine else. (Someone bored?)
I have 2 parties, same address. 104th/Colorado area.

When do you need them served? I will do it if it can wait till next week.
