50 Beowulf

Anyone running with a .50 Beowulf? If so what do you think of that round? What kind of set-up do you have? Have you used it for hunting? I’m just curious about this round. The idea of throwing a .50 cal round down range sounds fun.

I had one years ago. It was my second AR and besides the 'cool' factor I did not see any other purpose for it. Rounds are pretty expensive (I do not reload) and the only place at the time to get them was for Alexander Arms online. Other than that I really have no input but it was neat to have a 50 cal AR platform.

I put one together a couple years ago as well. Purchased the AA upper, added a rail, pepperpot brake among a few other items. Definite cool factor but I don't hunt so unless one day I was going to be manning a vehicle checkpoint and having the need to disable vehicles I didn't have much use for it. Ended up selling it off to fund another project. I still like them, if I had a bigger gun budget I would have kept it just to have it...
