Default MASSIVE recall on automotive airbags. 14 makes affected. 2001-2016.`

HUGE recall on car/truck airbags. Apparently if they go off, they can blast metal shrapnel into the person in the passenger seat like a bomb. MANY, MANY makes affected across 2001 all the way up to 2016. BMW, Chrysler, Chevy, Dodge, Freightliner, Ford, GMC, Honda, Mazda, Mercedes, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru, Toyota, and Volkswagen.

Check if your car is on the list here: http://www.safercar.gov/rs/takata/takatalist.html

Both my mom and my dad drive cars on the list. There's apparently a low inventory of replacements and it can take months to get it in for service. They're saying that for now, the only option is don't let any passengers ride in the front seat.

Share this with friends and family if you think they might be affected.

Got notices today that both my subarus need replacement. But, we don't have parts, and we'll let you know when we do. In the meantime, dont let anyone ride in the passenger seat....

Wow, none of the cars we have, or even in my family, are on the list. Thanks for posting.

My little 2001 I-25 Honda bomber has been on that list for like 6 months. I'm just playing Russian roulette with it!

Looks like I'm safe. Both trucks, the wife's SUV, the son's car, the daughter's car, and the future daughter in law's and son in law's vehicles didn't make the list.

Our car is on the list.

My mom just did her car last week. I wonder how takata can afford this massive recall...
