    Ya this.

I sure wish these could gain some traction. HB16-1024 is tops on my list. I hate having my gun purchasing decisions based on what mags I can legally buy.

Maybe if they can some way make it to the desk of Gov. dickenpopper he just might sign off on them now that he is getting some ass !!!

    Yes I have been drinking.

YOU are the first responder. Police, fire and medical are SECOND responders.
When seconds count, the police are mere minutes away...
Gun registration is gun confiscation in slow motion.

    FWIW, sent to the committee:

Subj: Please vote FOR HB 16-1024

The restriction of magazine capacity amounts to nothing more than rationing self-defense.

Merely looking at the hit ratio of trained police officers involved in shootings will show you that a less-trained woman faced with multiple attackers has been put at a severe disadvantage by the magazine restriction law.

Allow the law abiding the means to defend themselves using the best means possible, please repeal the magazine restriction law.

If you believe a law restricting magazine capacity will stop mass shooters, realize that they’re already ignoring the laws against murder. Magazine restrictions will do nothing to stop someone like that; in fact it would PROTECT them from law-abiding people that would otherwise be able to stop them.

A magazine restriction law only penalizes the law-abiding and puts them at a disadvantage.

Please take this opportunity to support the right to self-defense and vote FOR HP 16-1024.

Don’t ration self-defense. Vote YES on HB 16-1024.

I learned everything I need to know about the political effectiveness of phone calls and letter writing in 2013.

Several acres of rainforest were leveled to create the amount of paper I used to write elected officials in '13 and it did diddly squat.

-no, and it's far easier for an administrative assistant to delete an email than it is to cart off thousands of paper envelopes like I and others sent in '13 in an attempt to effect change. I sent my share of emails as well, in addition to encouraging others to call, write, and email.

As others have noted, yesterday, after a long hearing all 5 gun bills were killed on a party line vote. The mag ban repeal is still alive in the Senate, but of course even if it passes there would still have to get through the House. And a different version of the military carry bill, SB 16-144 was introduced on March 4 by Sen Cooke, so it will get a second chance. His bill is different in that instead of exempting active duty military from the permit requirement, would lower the age for applying for a concealed carry permit to 18 for active duty or honorably discharged military.

As others have noted, the battle for these issues is really won (or lost) in November, when these folks stand for election, not in the committee hearing after the Colorado legislature has already taken shape. The only way any of these bills stand a chance is if there is a Republican majority in both houses of the legislature. A few Democratic members of the House may be faintly pro-gun, but the Democratic leadership will never allow any pro-gun bill to come to the floor for a vote so long as they control the body.
